Nicholas commenced his career at a start-up company dealing with small molecule drug design, following which he worked as a Chemical Patent Attorney at a competitor IP Firm. Subsequently, Nicholas took up a position at an energy technology start-up company becoming General Manager of Technology Commercialisation. His responsibilities included IP management, research strategy and programme management, project development and technology commercialization.

Nicholas has extensive experience in technical due diligence, drafting Patent Applications for complex technologies, preparing validity and infringement opinions and patentability opinions, and has experience with Infringement Proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia.
