
As a Barrister and Solicitor based in New Zealand, Tony brings substantial experience in IP and commercial law matters to our New Zealand Office.
He has been involved in IP litigation matters in both Australia and New Zealand relating to breaches of Copyright, Trade Marks, Patents and Registered Designs, and Confidentiality Agreements and common law actions of passing-off and breaches in relation to misleading and deceptive conduct under the Trade Practices Act of Australia and the Fair Trading Acts of Victoria and New Zealand, respectively.
The cases that he has been involved in have covered subject matter such as musical copyright, architectural designs, building techniques, fruit peelers, clothing, wine labels, business names and business information. He has also prepared submissions on behalf of the Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association on Trade Mark matters. He was a witness to the 1994 Australian Senate Inquiry into the protection of Olympic words and symbols.
